About Our Partner Organisation
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is responsible for delivering an independent, fair and effective prosecution service. The main functions of the ODPP are executive management, prosecution services, sector strengthening and reform, and prosecutions.

The ODPP provides legal advice to the Police Force and all Solomon Islands Government ministries and works in the Court of Appeal, High, Magistrate and Provincial Courts. They undertake prosecutions and provide awareness and education activities regarding the laws of the country.

What You’ll Do
As a VSA Volunteer, you'll immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Solomon Islands, aiding the ODPP Witness Liaison Team to support survivors and witnesses of violent crime. The team have had no formal training and do the best they can with what they know. In this role you will need to have experience and knowledge in survivor and witness care to work alongside the team to help them build capacity, better support the survivors and witnesses of violent crime.

Your Skills and Experiences
  • Experience of the justice systems or with survivors and witnesses of crime
  • Experience in case management and prioritising case load
  • The ability to decide pathways and referrals for clients to support agencies
  • Prior experience in coaching, mentoring and or training adults
