Roi Burnett


Roi is a researcher of I-Kiribati and European descent. A previous VSA volunteer herself, Roi has experience in the NGO sector in Kiribati. Following the completion of a Masters in Pacific Studies, Roi has completed research looking into issues of gender equality, culture and colonization in Kiribati. She has also led research looking at the gendered experiences of I-Kiribati seasonal workers. Roi was recently part of a team conducting research related to climate mobility across seven countries in the Pacific, as both a Research Fellow and Research Program Coordinator. She is currently undertaking doctoral research with a focus on menstrual health in Kiribati.
