Dave joined VSA in April 2025 as Volunteer Recruitment Manager, bringing with him a strong passion for international development and a deep commitment to the value of volunteerism. With a diverse background in the commercial sector across Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally, Dave transitioned into the charity sector to help amplify the impact of the organisations he supports. His previous roles have included work with globally recognised NGOs such as World Vision and Habitat for Humanity.

Dave has led volunteer teams into India, Africa, and the Pacific, supporting communities and seeing firsthand both the challenges whānau in developing countries face and the life-changing difference that skilled volunteers can make.

His leadership and experience in international volunteer coordination enable him to ensure that the best possible candidates are matched to the best possible roles, a mission that lies at the heart of VSA’s work over the past 60+ years, and one that Dave is passionate about continuing.

Outside of work, Dave is known for his love of films, he’s always ready with a well-timed movie quote. He lives just outside Wellington with his wife, while their two adult sons live and work in the city.
