Recruitment Advisor - Pasifika Portfolio

As a Recruitment Advisor holding a Pasifika Portfolio, you’ll work alongside Programme Managers in Kiribati, Bougainville and Papua New Guinea to connect skilled professionals with meaningful volunteer opportunities across the Pacific. This is a real opportunity to utilise recruitments skills to make a direct impact on international development in the Pacific.


This role delivers end-to-end recruitment for in-country volunteering, ensuring the right volunteers are matched to the right roles while providing an inclusive, engaging candidate experience. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, contribute to recruitment campaigns and events, and support continuous improvement across volunteer recruitment practices.


Some international travel will be required to visit the programmes on the ground and build understanding and connection with the local communities.

What you'll do

  • Deliver high-quality end-to-end recruitment for professional volunteers across assigned Pacific country portfolios, ensuring strong alignment between candidates and assignments
  • End-to-end includes recruitment campaign planning, advertising, screening and panel interviews along with reference and compliance checks
  • Use Job Adder and Referoo to manage the overall process and make good use of AI to minimise administration
  • Prepare volunteer offers and support a smooth handover to our Operations team
  • Provide recruitment guidance and advice to internal stakeholders on processes and timeframes as required
  • Contribute to recruitment campaigns, engagement activities and events (e.g. UniVol, roadshows, festivals) as required
  • Build and maintain engaged talent pools, responding to expressions of interest from potential volunteers
  • Champion inclusive recruitment practices, with a focus on attracting Māori and Pasifika candidates
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, recruitment projects, and reporting as required

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end recruitment in a professional or values-driven environment
  • A desire to make a real difference to communities in the portfolio countries
  • International development experience is desirable, but not crucial
  • Strong candidate assessment and interview coordination experience
  • Experience with candidate sourcing and talent pooling strategies
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • High level of organisation and ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusive recruitment practices
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and maintaining accurate recruitment data.
  • Experience with AI in a recruitment context is desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across multiple functions
