Recruitment Advisor – Pasifik Portfolio
Part-time - 0.8 FTE, Wellington CBD.

As a Volunteer Recruitment Advisor holding the Pasifik Portfolio, you’ll play a key role in connecting skilled professionals with meaningful volunteer opportunities across the pacific. This role delivers end-to-end recruitment for in-country volunteering assignments, ensuring the right volunteers are matched to the right roles while providing an inclusive, engaging candidate experience. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, contribute to recruitment campaigns and events, and support continuous improvement across volunteer recruitment practices.
What you'll do
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment for professional volunteers across assigned Pasifik country portfolios
- Advertise volunteer assignments and actively source candidates using search platforms
- Screen and assess candidates for skills, attributes, cultural understanding, psychological safety, and readiness for volunteer assignments
- Coordinate and manage interviews, including panel arrangements, logistics, and preparation of interview packs
- Conduct reference checks, police and MOJ vetting, and qualification verification in line with VSA policies
- Prepare volunteer offers and support a smooth handover to our Operations team
- Provide recruitment guidance and advice to internal stakeholders on processes and timeframes
- Contribute to recruitment campaigns, engagement activities and events (e.g. UniVol, roadshows, festivals)
- Build and maintain engaged talent pools, responding to expressions of interest from potential volunteers
- Champion inclusive recruitment practices, with a focus on attracting Māori and Pasifika candidates
- Maintain accurate candidate records and reporting in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and VSA policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, recruitment projects, and reporting as required
Ngā tino Pūkenga/Wheako – Essential skills/experiences for the role
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end recruitment in a professional or values-driven environment
- International development experience is desirable, but not crucial
- Strong candidate assessment and interview coordination experience
- Experience with candidate sourcing and talent pooling strategies
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- High level of organisation and ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously
- Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusive recruitment practices
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and maintaining accurate recruitment data
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across multiple functions
