Te Āhua o Te Tūrunga – The nature of the position
As our Fundraising Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of donations, maintaining clean donor records in our CRM (Vega), and supporting excellent donor and member stewardship, auditing data and supporting profiling of donors and members.
Sitting within the Marketing, Communications, and Fundraising team, this role collaborates closely with the Fundraising Advisor and the wider Stakeholder Engagement group. You’ll be helping us to map and understand our donor journey and finding ways that we can improve the donor experience with VSA.
Key responsibilities include:

Processing and reconciling donations with accuracy and care

Maintaining up-to-date and high-quality donor records in Vega

Supporting data audits and donor profiling

Contributing to donor journey mapping and fundraising reporting

We are looking for someone who believes in shared learning achievable through volunteering and who embodies manaakitanga. You’ll be a methodical, accurate, and reliable person with a high level of attention to detail and a passion for supporting purpose-driven work.
As our Fundraising Assistant, you will ideally have:

Experience working with CRM systems (Vega experience is a bonus)

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and processing

A strong understanding of data management and reconciliation

Great interpersonal and written communication skills

A collaborative mindset and confidence working with diverse stakeholders

An understanding of or willingness to engage with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and principles of international development

The starting salary for this role is between $59,000 - $69,000 (Pro rata) depending on skill and experience.
