Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa (SROS) was established in 2006 to undertake scientific and technical research for the Government of Samoa and to develop new technologies with the primary aim of adding value to, and benefitting, Samoa’s local industry. Among its tasks, SROS develops prototypes of products and processes for the local or overseas markets, trains researchers and professionals engaged in scientific and technical research work, and promotes Samoa’s national economy based on research and development.

The organisation has five divisions: The CEO’s Office, Plant & Food Technology (PFT), Environment & Renewable Energy (ERE), Industrial Research and Administration and Finance.
