The Catholic Diocese of Kimbe is an integral part of the Roman Catholic Church, and belongs to the Catholic Bishops’ Federation of Oceania; it is also part of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.

 The Diocese is responsible for overseeing a large number of schools, health clinics and churches throughout West New Britain. The Finance Office focuses on bringing funds into the Diocese and managing major sources of income from other benefactors. The Finance Office also looks after the buildings the church rents out. The Finance Office is separate from the Chancery Office, which focuses on allocating money out to allow the Diocese to run its various pastoral activities.
