The Cook Islands Family Welfare Association (CIFWA) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which was established in 1987 by a few individuals concerned with population growth. Since then, CIFWA has grown into an organisation dedicated to providing family planning and sexual reproductive health care to the people of the Cook Islands. CIFWA is guided by its vision: “Safe Sexual Reproductive Health for All” and its mission “To provide quality sexual reproductive health information and services that are accessible and affordable to all and especially working with young and disadvantaged groups in the Cook Islands.”
    
CIFWA provides a range of services free of charge, which include but are not limited to:
•    Contraceptives
•    Antenatal and post natal care
•    Pap Smears
•    Breast examinations
•    Sexually transmitted infection and HIV testing and counseling
•    Family planning counseling advice
•    Comprehensive sexuality education
•    Community outreach
•    Condom distribution
•    Youth peer education programmes

CIFWA has a strong working relationship and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health to work together providing these services to the people of the Cook Islands.
