International Development Enterprises (iDE) is a non-profit International NGO, based in the USA, with a market-based approach to poverty reduction. iDE builds profitable enterprises and value chains that deliver sustainable social and economic benefits to the rural poor, enabling them to increase income and improve their quality of life.
iDE Cambodia was established in 1994 as the Cambodia operation of iDE. Initial emphasis was on water management via treadle pumps for poor smallholder farmers; later including affordable drip irrigation systems for horticulture.
The Cambodia Agribusiness Development Facility (CADF) was established in 2005 to promote agribusiness in the northwest provinces. The focus is on agriculture value chain strengthening – facilitating work with existing market players without becoming a market player.
