Here's a great little video clip from Roseanne Ulunga, who returned to Auckland last July after volunteering as an engineer in the Solomons.

Roseanne volunteered as part of VSA's partnership with Downer. One of her motivations was her parents' efforts to give her and her brothers a better life in New Zealand.

She talks about the challenges of betel nut juice and working to 'Solomon time', how her Solomons' science classes reminded her of New Zealand classes, and the female role models who inspired her to become an engineer.

Filmed by Patrick Rose, a volunteer comms specialist with UNDP, the clip is a good intro to a volunteer's life for anyone thinking of an assignment with VSA.
