Ken Wong

VSA in Cambodia was a 'wonderful experience', Ken says.

A snapshot of volunteering in Cambodia eight years ago was the first in a string of development-related videos by former volunteer Ken Wong.

Ken made the promotional video for VSA while he was a science faculty adviser in Phnom Penh. The 6min 32sec clip features former country manager Karen Horton and volunteers Bill Shields, Michael Sheppard and Peter and Christine Gibbons.

Ken also enjoyed a VSA volunteer stint in Samoa 2012-2014, he says. “I have been interested in volunteer work since high school when I did work at a hospital in Montreal in the 1970s, and in development work since a university mentor went on volunteer assignment to Tanzania.”

Since returning to Canada for family reasons, Ken has organised video projects in Kenya and Rwanda. He now works part-time at the University of Toronto as the Centre Administrator for the Centre for Healthcare Engineering.
