The Pacific Community (SPC) is committed to developing long term, secure and climate-friendly energy sources. A fundraising strategy is needed so they can assist Pacific Island countries with managing their resources and increasing their renewable energy uptake.

In this assignment you will support the Georesources and Energy Programme (GEP) team to identify and consult with relevant donors, and co-develop a fundraising strategy. Key to this assignment will be also be identifying training needs for the GEP team enabling them to develop future funding strategies and proposals without assistance.

If you’re a team player with strong donor engagement skills, this is a great three-month opportunity in Suva, Fiji to share your skills with a team dedicated to reducing their carbon footprint and developing more sustainable energy networks.

We are looking for a volunteer with:

  • Experience developing and implementing a fundraising strategy
  • Excellent knowledge of funding, investment attraction and/or donor engagement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Experience training others
  • A relevant tertiary degree

VSA volunteers receive a living allowance and accommodation, insurance, and medical costs are provided. Travel arrangements are organised and funded by VSA along with other costs.
