TradeInvest Timor-Leste is a public authority, and the primary Investment and Export Promotion agency for Timor-Leste. Their aim is to create a sustainable environment for local businesses to expand both locally and internationally. They have recently completed their strategy and supporting action plans. TradeInvest plays a key role in supporting the Timor-Leste Government. It also works with local businesses to provide information and links both within the local and international market.

In this assignment you will support TradeInvest to deliver the investment targets within their strategic plan through mentoring and capacity building. You will work alongside the investment promotion team and investment promotions director to develop an investment promotion package framework. You will also collaborate with the team in developing an enhanced investment monitoring process, which aims to support its after-care role and delivery of TradeInvest’s strategic plan. The assignment requires you to collaborate with the leadership team and key stakeholders and provide coaching and mentoring where necessary. 

This is an opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience within the business investment sector, mentoring TradeInvest to operate effectively, and ensure that they are meeting their investment targets.

This assignment will be based in the vibrant and fast-paced city of Dili, Timor-Leste. It is a great opportunity to work alongside people in a range of sectors to support the economic, social and environmental development of Timor-Leste.

We are looking for a volunteer with:

  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the business investment sector
  • Knowledge of macro-economics
  • Experience developing structured frameworks and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring and coaching staff

VSA volunteers receive a living allowance and accommodation, insurance, and medical costs are provided. Travel arrangements are organised and funded by VSA along with other costs.
