For over six decades, Volunteer Service Abroad Te Tūao Tāwāhi (VSA) has been leaving a legacy across the Pacific. Through remote, in-country, and local volunteer programs, we empower volunteers to make a difference, fostering friendships that transcend borders.
What You'll Do | Mō te tūnga
You'll work alongside the MJLA team to help them achieve their goal of accurately evaluating the work the Justice and Legal sector does with a view of highlighting improvements.
In this role you will help MJLA create and implement a monitoring, evaluation, research and learning framework to better understand the impact the sector is having, identify achievements and highlight lessons to be learned.

We're looking for a volunteer with the following:
The Solomon Islands Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs (MJLA) oversees the review and updating of laws in the Solomon Islands. They also oversee the formation of legal policy and provide leadership and corporate services to the five Solomon Islands justice agencies. They have a team of around 20 staff covering various functions including policy and planning and monitoring and reporting.

We're looking for a volunteer with the following:
- A qualification and/or similar experience in business analysis, monitoring and evaluation
- Knowledge of donor reporting requirements/systems
- Ability to utilise data to make informed recommendations regarding monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning
- Experience implementing and evaluating frameworks for sector monitoring and evaluation
- Experience using data to identify learnings and achieved outcomes
- Experience compiling reports consistently and to high standards for a mid to large sized organisation (desirable)
- Confidence training, upskilling and continuous mentoring of staff in conducting data analysis, monitoring and evaluation activities
- Exceptional internal/external stakeholder and relationship management skills

We are looking for a volunteer with:
- Do you have experience implementing MERL frameworks?
- Passionate about data analysis, monitoring and evaluation?
- 12 month assignment based in the Solomon Islands

VSA covers flights, accommodation, insurance and some expenses. A living allowance is also provided.
