About volunteering with VSA

VSA is New Zealand's largest and most experienced volunteering agency working in international development. We provide skilled Kiwi volunteers to support organisations in the Pacific and beyond through capacity building, both in country and virtually.
  
Volunteers must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.

E-volunteers receive a monthly honorarium to help cover the costs associated with undertaking the assignment.

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)
is an international intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as green growth, which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
GGGI works with 43 member countries around the world, building their capacity to develop green growth policies to positively impact the lives of their citizens. GGGI partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

The regional Pacific Green Entrepreneurs Network (PGEN) is a 3-year project funded by the Qatar Fund for Development and implemented by GGGI.
The Network aims to support green and inclusive job growth by supporting entrepreneurs (particularly women and youth) to develop their green and sustainable businesses, and whose business models include solutions aimed at contributing to their country’s climate and sustainable development goals in 6 Pacific Island countries – Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu.

The Assignment

In this assignment multiple VSA E-volunteers with experience as business advisors, ideally with their own lived experience as entrepreneurs in the Pacific region are required to provide individualized coaching and business advisory support to Greenpreneurs at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

A pool of VSA e-volunteers (in areas such as marketing and communications, finance, human resources, business compliance, partnerships, and exporting requirements), particularly those with connections to the Pacific diaspora in Fiji, Kiribati, PNG, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu, and who are willing to provide one on one business advisory support to green MSMEs have the potential to have a transformational effect on purpose-driven small businesses in the Pacific.

The Volunteers

We're looking for volunteer's with the following:

  • Marketing and communications (including branding, pitching, digital marketing, and/or e-commerce) for start-ups or MSMEs
  • Business development for start-ups or MSMEs
  • Finance & Accounting for start-ups or MSMEs
  • Business strategy and business continuity planning for start-ups or MSMEs
  • Human Resources for start-ups or MSMEs
  • Business compliance, market connections, and/or export regulations for start-ups or MSMEs
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
