Closing Date: 26 May 2022

Category: Youth Engagement & Community Development

The Partner Organisation

The overarching goal of the National Rugby League (NRL) Tonga Programme is to use the sport of rugby league to create positive change across four key focus areas: health; gender equality (with a particular focus on the prevention of gender-based violence); social cohesion; and participation opportunities for people with a disability. The NRL's community programmes lead and inspire people to be the best they can be.

The Assignment

The focus of this assignment is to support the development and delivery of the Voice Against Violence programme in Tonga. Programme participants are provided with insights into what gender-based violence is, the different forms it takes, the consequences, and why it occurs. Participants also learn about healthy relationships and healthy behaviour.

We're looking for a volunteer with the following qualifications and experience:
  • Experience in community development or community project management (preferably multicultural communities)
  • Experience in working with gender-based violence and mental health
  • Experience in training staff or colleagues in community development or social work
  • Data collection skills
  • Full (manual) Drivers Licence
A Social Work qualification or other relevant degree is desirable but not essential.
