The Organisation
Mai e Nima works towards improving the health and well-being of primary school students throughout Tonga. VSA has been working with Mai e Nima since 2018, supporting the programme to engage with schools and communities to take the messages from the programme and implement them in their own lives.

The Mai e Nima programme  officially aligned with the National Rugby League in October 2018, giving it the mandate to be active in all  Tongan Government primary schools. Since then, the Mai e Nima programme has grown to reach all  government primary schools in Tonga –52 schools on Tongatapu and 27 schools on the 3 main island groups, ‘Eua, Ha’apai and Vava’u. 

The Assignment
This is an e-volunteer assignment, work from home for a minimum of five hours per week. The focus of the assignment is to maximise digital engagement with organisational stakeholders. The VSA volunteer will improve organisational learning on how to reach target audiences with the right messages, and how to attract new interest in the work they are doing, leading to an increase in the value of Mai e Nima’s social media platforms.

Our Ideal Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer with a solid Communications background who also has a particular interest in Social Media and Digital Communications. Experience in coaching or mentoring, in either a formal or informal capacity will be highly regarded. A commitment to working cross-culturally, the ability to develop strong relationships, and an open and flexible attitude are essential.
