The Organisation
Based in Suva, Fiji, the Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the pacific region. An international organisation owned and governed by its 26 member states and territories, SPC has been supporting development activities since 1947. The organisation envisions a region of peace, harmony, security, social inclusion and prosperity,  where all Pacific people can lead free, healthy and productive lives.  Covering over 20 sectors, they are  renowned for knowledge and innovation in such areas as fisheries science, public health surveillance, geoscience and conservation of plant genetic resources for food security.

The Assignment
This is an e-volunteer assignment working as part of a remote team for a minimum of 5 hours per week. Working from home, the assignment involves preparing, reviewing, and securing funding agreements for a number of SPC's key strategic projects. Funding security has been identified as a priority area for SPC's Geo-resources and Energy Programme (GEP) as this will enable the organisation to better assist their members achieve their respective energy and development goals. Identified projects include the Pacific Regional Energy Framework 2020-2030, the Pacific Energy Gender Network Strategic Plan 2020-2030, and other projects under the SPC energy mandate. 

The Volunteer
We're looking for a volunteer with 
  • tertiary qualifications in resource economics, international development or related field;
  • 3-5 years work experience in fundraising or investment attractions;
  • able to work from home and utilise appropriate technology to engage with our partner organisation;
    and
  • experience in stakeholder management.
