The Organisation
The North Malaita Youth Congress  in the Solomon Islands was established in 2012 by young people from the region. The organisation is community-based and was formed to address social concerns surrounding young people. Since its formation, the North Malaita Youth Congress has engaged young people in a variety of activities that support healthy living, physical exercise, and community development. The organisation is increasing its engagement with young people so changes made can be sustained within the lives of the youth and within communities.

The Assignment
This is an e-volunteering assignment with a minimum commitment of 5-hours per week. The volunteer will work from home and can be based anywhere in New Zealand.

The purpose of this assignment is to support the North Malaita Youth Congress to engage its young people in the development of a strategic plan that will be used to guide the the organisation for the next three years.  The volunteer will support the young people to understand the importance of planning and work with them to create an implementation plan.

The Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer with: 
• Experience working with organisations to develop strategic plans.
• Experience developing implementation plans to ensure strategies are operationalised.
• Ability to work with young people in a remote rural areas.
