Vanuatu is a diverse country of multiple cultures and languages. This along with its tropical climate and natural beauty makes it an emerging country in terms of tourism. A rise in Vanuatu’s tourism will potentially stimulate economic growth for the local communities by channeling funds through sectors such as public transport, handicraft and agriculture.
 
The Santo Travel Centre (STC) is a locally operated, not-for-profit organisation established in 2014 through a collaboration between the Vanuatu Tourism Office, The Department of Tourism, and local Tourism Associations. The purpose of the organisation is to provide ni-Vanuatu owned business in the more rural Islands of Torba, Sanma and Penama with a greater chance to connect with international tourists.
In this assignment you will work alongside staff at STC, building capacity and supporting thier vision for the Centre. As the volunteer you will update and strengthen their marketing strategy, build their resources and materials and facilitate training on how to utilise social media platforms and engage successfully with stakeholders.
 
This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who can use their broad marketing experience to work with STC and help them towards a bright and sustainable future.
 
We are looking for a volunteer with:
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of marketing strategies
  • Skills and experience with various marketing techniques and / or communication mediums including online marketing platforms, and print media
  • High level IT skills including, social media and website development
  • Graphic design and photography skills
  • Excellent, interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact with stakeholders at all levels

VSA volunteers receive a living allowance and accommodation, insurance, and medical costs are provided. Travel arrangements are organised and funded by VSA along with other costs.

 

VSA covers flights, accommodation, insurance and some expenses. A living allowance is also provided.
