VSA's annual Congress will be held on Saturday 3 November 2018.

Congress brings together VSA’s members, returned volunteers, Council members and staff as well as people who support VSA’s work.

The theme for 2018 is “Pawa Meri: Strong Women”, and we are excited to bring together a programme focusing on the work of those involved in Gender-Based Violence across the Pacific.

VSA has been working with Leitana Nehan Women’s Development Agency (LNWDA) in Bougainville since 2007 and LNDWA’s co-founder and CEO, Helen Hakena, will be joining current VSA volunteer Christine Ramsay to speak about the positive impact working with VSA has had.

Helen will also join a panel discussion, chaired by Eleanor Butterworth, and including Returned Volunteers working with similar organisations in both the Pacific and in New Zealand.

There is no cost for invited guests for the full day at the Royal Society in Thorndon, which will get underway with registrations from 8am, and will conclude after the AGM at around 3.00pm.

The full programme and further information about our speakers can be found here, where you will also be able register your attendance.

If you are a volunteer or accompanying partner that has returned from assignment, and have been debriefed since our 2017 Congress (between 31/10/2017 and 1/11/2018), your travel and accommodation costs will be met by VSA – please see the information at the link below below for details.

We look forward to welcoming you on the day.
