Flooding in the Solomon Islands

Published on 4th April 2014

Volunteer Service Abroad can confirm that our staff and volunteers in the Solomon Islands are safe.

Our thoughts are with the people of the Solomon Islands at this difficult time, and we will be assisting our partners there in any way we can.

VSA has 14 volunteers in the Solomon Islands, 12 of whom are in Honiara. Our Solomon Islands Programme Manager, Alexa Funnell, is also in Honiara, as is our International Programme Manager, Junior Ulu, who was visiting this week from Wellington.

We are in regular contact with the New Zealand High Commission in Honiara, and will continue to monitor the situation and to keep volunteers’ families informed.
