We are seeking nominations for candidates for the VSA Council Elections 2021 by 30 June 2021. This is a four year term beginning in November 2021.
Are you passionate about the Pacific Region? Do you have an interest in public diplomacy and international development? Are you a strategic thinker?
You may be someone who is already involved in volunteer services in New Zealand, have connections within Pacific communities or someone who has business and governance skills that can help shape the future of VSA. Alternatively, you may wish to develop your governance experience and add new innovative thinking to the Council. We encourage everyone to talk to us about the opportunity of being on the Council.
VSA has a strong 60-year history, and we are looking for people who have the energy and can drive change to lead and connect us strategically within the international development sector. VSA is committed to giving practical effect to the spirit of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and has a diverse representation as an organisation, and our approach is to connect and share knowledge to empower people for a sustainable difference.
The next few years especially will be significant for VSA. In response to COVID-19, VSA critically reviewed its operating environment and delivery models, with the outcomes of that work now being incorporated into how it operates. With a dual focus on returning volunteers to the Pacific as soon as possible, over the next few years VSA will also be taking a transformative approach actively exploring and implementing options for future volunteering models.
Council has a significant role in this change, leading our strategies to increase VSA’s impact in the wider Pacific.
New Zealand residents can be financial members of VSA through annual subscriptions and/or returning from volunteers. Council members must be members.
