2018 Council Election

Announcing the result of the 2018 VSA Council Election

Voting in the VSA Council election closed on 30 September 2018. Votes were counted on 1 October 2018. The vote count took place at the VSA office in Wellington, and the process was scrutinised by Gavin Kerr, VSA’s Immediate Past President.

The following candidates were elected to Council and begin their four-year term at the AGM taking place on 3 November 2018:

  • Hannah Stewart
  • Julia O’Connor
  • Olivia Owen
  • Simon Trotter

They join the current Council members whose term completes in 2020:

  • Evan Mayson
  • Kirikaiahi Mahutariki
  • Dana MacDiarmid
  • John Bowis
  • Peter Elmsly and Hone McGregor, who both continue as co-opted members of Council until February 2019.
  • Deidre Brookes and Kirsty Burnett, have both been co-opted as members of Council for 12 months following completion of their current terms, until the AGM in 2019.

We look forward to introducing the full Council to the attendees at the AGM.

Thank you to all candidates willing to support VSA by accepting nominations and standing in this year’s election.
