Te Tūao Tāwāhi - Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) is New Zealand’s largest and most experienced volunteering agency working within international development. Te āhua o Te Tūrunga – The nature of the position
In this role you will provide general administrative office support to our Wellington Office; as well as direct administrative support to our senior leadership team, including assistance with travel arrangements and bookings.

You will look after our reception area, greeting visitors and managing contractors and couriers; as well as helping to make sure our events and volunteer briefings run smoothly and are well catered.

You will help make our Wellington Office a great place to work for our staff by providing facilities coordination, ensuring maintenance is done, organizing stationery and supplies; and making sure there are enough beans and milk so we can all have our morning coffee or tea.

Ngā tino Pūkenga/Wheako – Essential skills/experiences for the role

We are looking for an adaptable and resilient candidate who can work well independently as well as within a team. Your excellent communication skills and friendly and cheerful attitude will be one of your strengths.

As our Office Coordinator, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in administration in a busy office environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound working knowledge of online systems in addition to a working knowledge of MS Office 365 suite of software.
  • A genuine interest in working for VSA, and being part of a values-driven NGO working in the International Development Sector

This is a fixed-term part-time (15 hours per week) fixed position, based in Wellington.

The starting salary for this role is between $51,000 - $56,000 depending on skill and experience.
