I have been the Programme Manager for Solomon Islands since February 2019. In the past I’ve worked as a policy and management consultant in New Zealand and a Development Programme Manager in the Cook Islands. I have a Master of Development Studies from Victoria University. I’m also a former volunteer myself – having volunteered with Transparency International Fiji, Red Cross Cook Islands, Amnesty International New Zealand and Red Cross NZ, supporting newly arrived former refugees as they resettle in their new home in Aotearoa.
My favourite part of my role as the Solomon Islands Programme Manager is the relationships I get to build with our in country partners, and working with them to identify their capacity building needs and to see the true friendships that grow between our partners and the volunteers.
I’m originally from Texas, but have lived in and around NZ and the Pacific since 2007. In my free time I like to drink coffee, read the New Yorker and dance with my 3 year old daughter to Parris Goebbels videos.
