What do you do?

I help the volunteers to undertake their journey and I try to make their return as sweet as possible.

What’s your favourite thing about your job? Or what do you think is the best thing about working for VSA?

There are many things I love about working at VSA: the fact that I know we are doing something meaningful and beautiful; seeing the enthusiasm in the volunteers’ eyes; learning about Pacific cultures; not having the chance to get bored because there are so many diverse and interesting things every day. I feel extremely lucky.

What is a movie, book or piece of music that you’d recommend to someone who wants to get a flavour of the Pacific/Timor?

There is a low cost TVNZ show called Radar Across The Pacific. I think it’s a good way to get a sprinkle of the Pacific islands.

If you could be anywhere in the world on a Friday afternoon/evening, where would it be?

Probably at a bar in the south of Spain, holding one or two tinto de verano, surrounded by friends, happiness and good music. And getting ready for a long long night.
