Hailing from Tongareva (Cook Islands), Tahiti and Maketu (Te Arawa, Mataatua), Kiri is a lawyer with 18 years’ commercial and private sector experience (PricewaterhouseCoopers and Kahui Legal). She has advised government departments in Aotearoa and the Cook Islands, global and multinational organisations, SMEs, and Iwi and Hapu organisations. She is fluent in Te Reo Māori and well versed in Tikanga, and acts as Kaitakawaenga for VSA.
Kiri is a founding member and alumni of the Advancement of Maori Opportunity, part of a global indigenous network, Chair of the Judiciary for Wellington Rugby League, a founding member of the Charities Registration Board, and an alumni of the 2015 Global Women BreakThrough Leaders Programme. “I offer VSA the ability to bring a Maori and Pasifika worldview to the strategic intent and development of VSA, and to develop relationships with Māori and Pasifika organisations.”
As well as being a VSA Council member, Kiri is also a VSA Foundation member.
