Women in Business Development Inc (WIBDI) is a small Samoan, not-for-profit NGO, originally set up in 1991 to help promote and advance the economic and business status of women in Samoa. Following the back-to-back cyclones in the 1990s that devastated food and cash crops, WIBDI changed its focus to help rural and vulnerable people and families earn an income where they live, offering ongoing training, supervision and support. Among its activities, WIBDI conducts monthly market days to offer an outlet for the women's produce, assists with organic certification of farms to international standards and facilitates export to international markets. One of its international customers for virgin coconut oil is The Body Shop.
