The Savai’i Samoa Tourism Association (SSTA) was formed in 2010 by a group of entrepreneurs in Savai’i who work in the local tourism industry. The association's main objective is to address issues facing the tourism industry in Savai’i, working on small projects that can improve the delivery of services to tourists coming to the island, and to assist local operators within the industry. SSTA aims to help with professional development opportunities in Savai’i, to bridge the gap between Upolu and Savai’i, to facilitate access to donor funding and assistance available to Samoa so that smaller businesses can grow and improve. SSTA hopes to build a strong network of collaboration amongst the tourism businesses in Savai’i to help address local issues facing the operators as well as improve what is offered to guests travelling to Savai’i.

SSTA has 30 members who are accommodation providers, transport and tour operators, site owners, and leisure activity providers. SSTA has an elected Executive Committee with a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and two General Members.
