 About VSA  
VSA is New Zealand's largest and most experienced volunteering agency working in international development. We provide skilled Kiwi volunteers to support organisations in the Pacific and beyond through capacity building, both in-country and virtually. 
  
What is UniVol?  
VSA’s UniVol programme aims to provide new graduates with an extraordinary oversea experience in the Pacific while contributing to existing VSA programmes and improving international development education in New Zealand.
  
The UniVol programme has been operating since 2006.

To continue this proud tradition, we are looking for adaptable and tenacious young Kiwis prepared to take on their own life changing UniVol adventure in 2025.

Am I eligible for the UniVol Programme?  
The UniVol programme is a collaboration between Volunteer Service Abroad - Te Tūao Tāwāhi (VSA) and Otago, Victoria, Massey and Auckland universities. Therefore, to be eligible you must: 
  • Be a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident  
  • Be 30 years old or under 
  • Recently graduated, or graduating in 2024, from a New Zealand University. 
About the Assignment – Youth Development Assistan
In this assignment the VSA Volunteer is to work with the Youth Development Division to support its administrative, media and communications outputs.

The VSA volunteer will work alongside Division staff to create systems and processes which will enhance opportunities.
for young people in Tonga, including the mapping of youth work in Tonga.

The Partner Organisation – Ministry of Internal Affairs - Youth Development Division
The aim of the Youth Development Division is to support youth development by enhancing opportunities in training and employment.

The Division encourages and supports a comprehensive approach to youth development, by working together with a range of organisations and services which address the socio-economic, spiritual and socio-psychological concerns affecting youth in Tonga.

The Youth Division works in a collaborative manner with all youth stakeholders in Tonga, by engaging with youth, and by supporting research and best practice approaches to achieve its goals.

 About You 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Management, Public Relations or related field desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Some knowledge and/or experience in communications and media, including social media platforms
  • Knowledge and experience in the creation of media content
  • Some experience in data collection and analysis would be desirable
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • An interest in youth and cultural event
